Engine line
上柴 Diesel Generators
上柴 is the Shanghai-built engine line: mechanically straightforward industrial diesels that a workshop in the region has usually seen before, quoted as a new build where the budget is set by a tender and the duty is understood.
A 上柴 set is configured for the destination before it is built. The Philippines takes 60 Hz at 220/440 V; Indonesia and Vietnam take 50 Hz at 380/220 V. The set leaves the works wound and set for one of them, so the frequency is settled at the enquiry rather than converted afterwards.
Brand notes
上柴 in a quoted set
What the line is, what it is paired with, and what the quotation commits to.
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| Origin | Shanghai Diesel Engine Co. (SDEC), part of SAIC, Shanghai, China |
| Engine families | D series four- and six-cylinder industrial diesels, and the classic 12V135 units in the larger sets |
| Rating range we quote | 30 kVA to 800 kVA in the common classes, larger on request |
| Duty | Prime power for a site that runs on the set, standby for outage cover |
| Build forms | Silent canopy, open frame, containerized and trailer mounted |
| Frequency | 50 Hz at 1500 rpm or 60 Hz at 1800 rpm, set at the works for the destination |
| Alternator pairings | Usually Stamford, Leroy-Somer or Marathon; the nameplate is quoted with every set |
| Parts | Through the Shanghai Diesel (SDEC) network and the independent diesel trade; the engines are common enough in the region that a workshop has usually seen one |
| Price | Quoted on request. Send the rating, the site voltage and frequency, the destination port and the duty |
Ratings
What we quote for a 上柴 project
Common 上柴 requirements. Each rating links to its power range page.
| Rating | Build | Typical duty |
|---|---|---|
| 100 kVA / 80 kW | Silent canopy or open frame | Shops, clinics, small workshops and standby for a single building |
| 200 kVA / 160 kW | Silent canopy, automatic transfer | Commercial buildings, light industry and small plants |
| 300 kVA / 240 kW | Silent canopy | Hotels, malls and hospitals, where the noise limit governs the build |
| 500 kVA / 400 kW | Silent canopy or containerized | Factories, plant rooms and mine camps |
| 800 kVA / 640 kW | Containerized, parallel-ready | Process plants, data halls and larger standby groups |
Questions
Questions we are asked about 上柴 sets
Do you hold 上柴 sets in stock?
No. The 上柴 line is quoted against a requirement, and the set is configured for the destination and built for its voltage and frequency. The used stock we hold is listed on the Cummins, Volvo, Deutz, Perkins, Daewoo and Mercedes-Benz pages.
Which frequency will the set be built for?
The destination decides it. The Philippines runs at 60 Hz and 1800 rpm; Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia run at 50 Hz and 1500 rpm. A set wound and set for one of them cannot be used on the other, so the frequency is fixed when the order is placed rather than converted afterwards.
Where is 上柴 supported in Southeast Asia?
上柴 parts move through the Shanghai Diesel (SDEC) network and through the independent diesel trade. The engines are common enough in the region that a workshop has usually worked on one, but serial numbers and series do change what is inside: quote the series in the enquiry so that the parts list is built against the right engine rather than the right badge.
What alternator is paired with the engine?
Stamford, Leroy-Somer or Marathon unless a tender names another. The alternator make, model and insulation class are quoted with every set, because on a new build the alternator is where a quotation is most often quietly downgraded.
Can you quote against a tender document?
Yes. Send the tender or the technical specification and we return a quotation for the clauses that affect the set: rating and duty, enclosure and noise, control and transfer, documentation and factory testing. Where a clause names a brand or a standard, say so in the enquiry so that the answer addresses it rather than working around it.
